Historic Triangle-America’s Birthplace, was released at the 2016 Williamsburg Collectors’ Convention. This piece incorporates elements from the three Colonial Era towns that make up the Historic Triangle; Jamestown, Yorktown, & Williamsburg. The brick building on the left is the Governors Palace, and the brick building on the right is the Capitol; both in Williamsburg. Representing the areas Colonial British heritage is a British soldier, complete with a redcoat. Jamestown is represented with the thatch-roofed, Tudor-style structure on the far right and farm animals. The large statue in the middle is the Yorktown Victory Monument, overlooking the York River, with an 18th century schooner in the background. The Victory Monument was erected to commemorate the defeat of British General Lord Charles Cornwallis on October 19, 1781, which ensured American independence from Great Britain.
