Dancing at the Warm Springs During the 1700’s and 1800’s, The Warm Spring Bath Houses, Warm Springs, Virginia, were one of the state’s most well-known therapeutic resorts. Featured in the print is the Women’s Bath House, built in 1836, for soaking in the hot sulphur water. The Victorian gazebo covers the drinking spring, where people drink the water for health purposes. Not shown in the print is the Men’s Bath House which was built in 1761. Currently, the historic buildings are still open to the public and still serving their original purpose.
