In Colors of Fall, Pat has rendered a historic water wheel house located on the Liberty Furnace property in Shenandoah County, Virginia. The water wheel was built in 1957 for purposes of electricity.
The property once housed the old iron works, Liberty Furnace, which was constructed in 1817. It has been said that iron from the Liberty Furnace went into the USS Merrimac. Iron production at Liberty Furnace stopped in 1906.
