lowa State Fair 2000 celebrates the excitement of the yearly lowa State Fair. The beautiful 400-acre, 114-year-old fairground in Des Moines will host the 142nd fair in 2000. A record 969,523 people visited the fair in 1999. Many will return for the event on August 10-20 this year to enjoy hundreds of exhibits, live entertainment and Duffy Lyon’s sculpted Butter Cow, which has been part of the fair since 1911.
